The Men's Teams give it their all

Today’s men’s match was an epic championship decider, won with the final play of the day, reminiscent of the 2011 Navy v Army match.

Navy was the strong favourite coming into today’s game, based on their 55 – 12 victory over Air Force on Wed.

Someone forgot to tell Army, who dominated most of the first half, leading 16 – 5 at the break.

The second half was a see-saw affair, with the lead changing three times – twice in the last three minutes of the match.

At the end of the day, the difference was the strength and experience of Navy’s forward pack, which scored three of the team’s five tries.

When the final whistle blew, the scoreboard displayed a 31 – 28 victory to Navy….only their 3rd victory against Army in the past 14 years.

Today’s man of the match was Army halfback, Tony Luxford.
