Army Rugby has successfully filled its Secretary and Property Member appointments for 2012.
The current Treasurer is on posting so we are looking for a NPMA qualified volunteer to replace him.
Two Army members from this year’s highly successful ASRU men’s team, which claimed 2nd place at the inaugural International Defence Rugby Competition (IDRC), will make their debut on the big stage in front of a 50,000 estimated crowd, playing along side some of world rugby’s finest at Twickenham on Saturday, 3rd December 2011.

The rugby women were the only success story at this year’s Chancellor’s Cup contested between two icons of Townsville – James Cook University and Army.
Four sports are contested in the Cup – netball, basketball, women’s rugby and men’s rugby.
The AARU Management Committee comprises both full-time and part-time Army members who are passionate about rugby union in the Australian Army.

It was a black day all round on Friday, May 13, when the Australian Army Rugby Union Women (AARU-W) took on the might of the New Zealand Army team in the Lou Gardner Cup in New Zealand. An inexperienced Army team minus many of its key players was soundly beaten 64-0 by the Kiwis, but managed to find some light in the dark score line.

Army Rugby has been a representative sporting institution for many years - but just how many years is not quite clear. Army Rugby's Vice-President for Support Col Marcus Fielding said they might be unknowingly approaching the Centenary of Army Rugby in the next few years.
Once again the diggers from the Australian Army stand at the Somme in France, only this time it’s at the first ever ANZAC Day Dawn Service at the Australian National Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux. The ceremony left the members of the Army Rugby Team with a heightened degree of respect and sadness for those who served in times of conflict.
It took more than a little wet weather to dampen the spirits of the Australian Army Rugby team as they dug deep to take a 21-18 point victory over the French Army in Caen. During the game the Australian Army Team showed the mettle that embodies the Army values of courage, initiative and teamwork.
The Australian Army Rugby Union Development team dominated virtually every statistic except the score in the match against their New Zealand counterparts on ANZAC Day in Wellington.
But for five minutes after kick-off and 10 minutes before fulltime, the Australians dominated possession, territory and the set pieces.
